Turf Care Program Services

Help your lawn look its best through our Turf Care Program. After an on-site inspection of your lawn, Brokaw Lawn will work to customize a program specifically for your lawn’s needs. A typical program may include any of the following services:

Weed Treatments

Your lawn will receive ongoing treatments throughout the year to control weed growth and establishment.

Pre-Emergent Applications

Your lawn will receive scheduled pre-emergent applications to help control the growth of new weeds at certain times of year.

Fertilizer and Lime Applications

Your lawn will receive multiple scheduled fertilizer and lime applications at optimal times throughout the year to help your turf’s appearance and root system.

Soil Test

A test will show the quality of your soil. This will help determine if any adjustments are needed to optimize your program’s treatment schedule.

Fungicide applications

Lawns are susceptible to potential diseases when they are most stressed. This is often in Summer, due to high temperatures and infrequent, and sometimes heavy, rainfall. Preventive fungicide applications can help keep your lawn healthy. And if your lawn has diseases before, it’s more susceptible to the same issues every year.

Pesticide Applications

Don’t let insects destroy your hard work. Common insects such as grubs in the Spring or Summer or Armyworms in the Fall can begin destroying a lawn before you notice. By taking preventive measures, you can keep your lawn safe from unwanted pests.

Aeration

Depending on the grass type, your lawn will be aerated at the optimal time of year. Core aeration is vital for a lawn’s overall health and growth. Among its benefits, aeration reduces compaction, reduces thatch, increases oxygen movement to the roots.

Seeding

The optimal time to seed a fescue lawn is in Fall. This allows new growth to get established before the end of the year’s growing season and to continue its root growth during the Winter months. For seeding, we will use a premium tall fescue seed that only contains a fraction of a percent of filler. Ask other providers to show you their seed labels to see what they are spreading on your lawn.
